Prisoner holding metal cage in jail no freedom concept
A medical officer at Mchinji District Hospital will spend 48 years in jail for defiling a 7 year old girl.
The Lilongwe High Court convicted Lovemore Amanzi Phiri who was working as a Clinical Officer at the hospital is said to have defiled the girl in December 2020.
The 40 year old Phiri defiled the minor at his house at Longwe Village in Mchinji during a party.
Phiri, is from Kamoza, village, in the area of Traditional Authority Mkumbira in Nkhatabay district.
