Chilima- what next?

In 2014, at the age of 41, Vice-President Saulos Chilima became the youngest person to assume the office. He has gone on to build a cult of loyalists and critics and following his arrest on November 25, questions are being asked on the political future of one of the most flamboyant politicians of our times.

His supporters and loyalists claim he won’t go down alone, his critics believe his political end has come. In June, when President Lazarus Chakwera announced that he will no longer delegate Chilima duties, the Vice-President answered subtly, “let us repeal Section 91 of the Constitution.”
