Media mourns Nomsa Mkandawire Taulo

Former Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) journalist Nomsa Mkandawire Taulo has died after a short illness.

Nomsa was currently working as United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) South Sudan Communication and Innovations Analyst. She died suddenly after arrival in Malawi.

Nomsa died on Saturday, May 6, 2023, after a short illness. Tens of media and public personalities have expressed their shock at her passing.

Nomsa worked for the Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) as a reporter, editor and producer between 2004 and 2012 before joining Save the Children International as Campaigns and Communications Specialist.

She also worked at the United Nations in Malawi as a Communications Officer for Spotlight Initiative. She joined UNDP South Sudan in 2022.

“She will be remembered as a dedicated and ambitious communications professional who worked tirelessly to improve the lives of the vulnerable, more especially rural women,” said Golden Matonga, Chairperson of MISA Malawi in a statement.
