MYP vigils to resume, two vigils at Capital Hill

….Namiwa to proceed until Thabo is out

Capital Hill, the seat of Government will this week have two vigils as former members of the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) paramilitary wing – Malawi Young Pioneers have announced theirs from Tuesday next week.

Centre for Democracy and Development Initiatives(CDEDI) is already holding vigils to press for Attorney General Thabo Chakaka Nyirenda after  he lied he will recover K750 million stolen by officials in President Lazarus Chakweras administration when they paid to a butchery in London.

The MYP members will be based at  the Office of President and Cabinet (OPC) at Capital Hill in Lilongwe to pressure the government to pay them their terminal benefits.

Secretary general for the grouping, David Mulomole Kasitomu is quoted by  Zodiak Online that they have exhausted all the appropriate channels to access their benefits through OPC but in vain.

Zodiak Online is also saying OPC chief communications officer, Robert Kalindiza claims they wrote treasury to pay the beneficiaries once the funds are available.

MYP was disarmed in 1993 by the Malawi Defence Force during the an operation Bwezani, after the MYP killed a soldier in Mzuzu in a pub brawl.
