Former President Peter Mutharika says the Tonse Alliance administration is clueless and that if has failed Malawians in every sector.
Mutharika was speaking in Blantyre during a fundraising dinner for his Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) where he spent time outlining achievements of his party during the two stints it held power between 2005 and 2012 and 2014 to 2020.
“We will be ready to face a clueless and incompetent government, a government that sees nothing, hears nothing, knows nothing, and does nothing. A zero government. I can assure you in 2025 we will beat the socks out of them,” said Mutharika.
Mutharika said he left government with plenty of foreign exchange and a stable economy but the Tonse Administration has plundered all the resources leading to the current shortages the country is facing.
“I left forex covering six months. I don’t know what they have done with the money. I offered t send my boys, Kabambe (Dalitso) and Mwanamvenkha (Joseph) to help them. I was serious as a Malawian I am worried when things go wrong. They refused. They are too proud,” said Mutharika.
During the dinner the party launched an Airtel Money agent code to fundraise for 2025 elections.
