Homeland Security Minister Ken Zikhale Ng’oma revealed a planned security operation during a political rally, raising questions about his competence to handle the nation’s security if he can blurt it out at political rallies.
Zikhale Ng’oma, who is Director of Strategy for the MCP told a political rally in Mzimba on Sunday that the security agencies will soon round up “all foreigners in the country illegally.”
“I, with the Police will soon embark on Operation Sesani which will go everywhere even in the rural community. Once found they will be arrested,” said Zikhale Ng’oma which a security expert said was insensitive as it would alert the target group.
Zikhale Ng’oma warned foreigners in Malawi illegally and their local shields whom he claimed are assisting s helping them conduct business.
MCP officials have embarked a country wide campaign where they are using artists such as Skeffa Chimoto , Joe Gwaladi and Machuluka to woo crowds as hunger continues to ravage the country and majority of them feeling the rising costs of living.

He said President Chakwera appointed five cabinet ministers from the region in a cabinet of 29. The Minister did not say where the majority of the remaining 24 are from.
Other speakers included MP for Mzimba Solora who Transport and Public Works Minister Jacob Hara is, Lilongwe South East, Baba Stevie Malondera and Kasungu North MP Mike Bango.
