The High Court in Blantyre on Wednesday sentenced former medical insurance company boss Andrew Ngomwa to 64 years in jail.
Ngomwa who was convicted in January on charges of persistent raping of his niece is likely going to spend the rest of his life in jail serving a minimum of 17 years.Delivering the judgement, Justice Ruth Chinangwa, sentenced Ngomwa to 35 years imprisonment for defilement, 25 years for rape and 4 years for doing indecent acts in the presence of a minor.
One of the state lawyers they are satisfied with sentences which will run concurrently.
Ngomwa is former chief commercial officer for the Medical Aid Society of Malawi- MASM and was accused of years of rape and abuse of his niece.
