..attending a junior lawyers workshop
Attorney General Thabo Chakaka Nyirenda is in the United Kingdom for three weeks, attending a junior legal workshop in London. The Investigator Magazine has been informed.
A source from his office said the Attorney General is attending an African Academy training on arbitration which is arranged by some Nigerian that will last for three weeks.
“Government travelling limit is 14 days. He is has been in London since June 9th, not for work but literally attending a workshop that is for junior lawyers,” said the source.
The Investigator Magazine can confirm that the Attorney General has been part of the workshops which involves visiting various legal firms and being welcomed by some junior partners in the Law firms in the UK.
“A whole Attorney General attending a legal workshop for 3 weeks shows he has nothing to do in office or he is not serious. He is the Head of the bar. He has nothing to do or he is not required in office,” said another.
The Investigator Magazine estimates that tickets (business class) and allowances for the three weeks programme which started on 11th to 28 of June will cost the taxpayer not K14 million.
Chakaka Nyirenda has been making embarrassing legal gaffes since he was appointed and this latest episode will add to his comic way of operating the highly regarded office in legal systems.
At one point he accorded himself the title Senior Counsel by signing his letters with the same.
