Football Association of Malawi President Fleetwood Haiya has been accused of covering serious sex scandal that has rocked the Malawi National Football Women Team, after his right-hand man Daudi Mntanthiko by players as the sex predator.

The official has neither resigned nor been suspended by FAM as we spoke to different officials. Some claim the complainant was a fellow official not a football player.
The matter has been already reported to world governing body FIFA and the Confederation of Southern African Football (Cosafa) after FAM’s Haiya ignored the reports opting to do a cosmetic cover up, allege the players.
The players said Mntanthiko demanded hugs, kisses and outright sex, with one footballer claiming he tried to force himself on her during a recent COSAFA tourney, an allegation that would warrant Police investigation if FAM had reported the matter.
“Ndili ku room kwanga, iwowo anandiyimbira phone akuti bwera ndizakupatse ndalama zoti naweso upite ku shopping. I resisted. Kufika usiku anazayimbaso akuti bwera suzachedwa ndatentha pano,” reads some of the texts released by unidentified team members.
A separate text reads: “He (Daudi Mtanthiko) closed the door and removed his trousers and grabbed me tightly — pushed me onto the bed. He said we should have sex. I refused, and later he said I should behave because I was old enough.

“I warned him that I will call for help, and he warned me [not to]. And later pleaded that I should help him. Amati chonde ingondithandiza sindingabwerere momwe ndililimu [ Help me since it can not be possible for me to return to my room charged like this.]
“I refused, and later he asked just for a kiss, which I refused. He asked for a hug, and I refused again. He forced me to hug him but when he realized that I was about to call for help, he stopped and left my room,” reads another.
FAM is yet to issue a statement on the matter but insiders claim Haiya has put a tight lid on the matter, opting to wish it away as football politics.
